Summary
- An explosive "civil war" erupts in the Sister Wives season 19 trailer as Kody Brown faces fallout from his dissolving marriages.
- The trailer shows Kody questioning his actions, his ex-wives speaking out, and his family relationships crumbling.
- Janelle Brown threatens to "lawyer up" for a divorce settlement, as Robyn Brown struggles to move forward with Kody.
The Sister Wives season 19 trailer finally dropped, revealing a “civil war” between Kody Brown and his ex-wives Christine Brown, Meri Brown, and Janelle Brown. Sister Wives season 19, which will pick up with Kody and his only remaining wife Robyn Brown struggling through the dissolution of their plural marriage, plans to give an in-depth look into the fractured Brown family. With Kody and Meri having ended their marriage at the end of Sister Wives season 18, the patriarch of the Brown family has been left to pick up the pieces of his three original marriages.
"What did I do wrong?"
In the trailer for TLC's Sister Wives season 19, Kody is shown at a crossroads, unsure of how to proceed now that his marriages have ended and his ex-wives are open to speak their mind. “What did I do to deserve this? What did I do wrong?” Kody questions, asking the camera in an interview segment before proving exactly what he did wrong throughout the rest of the trailer. While Kody and Meri appear to have some time to hash things out about their 32-year marriage that turns sour, his time with Janelle is spent hoping to make amends.
Janelle, who shares that she’s going to be ready to “lawyer up” if Kody doesn’t agree to a divorce settlement, is shown living a whole new life after her 30-year marriage comes to a close. Getting closer with Christine, who will be introducing her now-husband David Woolley to Sister Wives this season, Janelle is seen having fun, letting loose, and not backing down in the trailer. With Robyn even struggling to move forward with Kody, the Brown family appears to be at a breaking point.

Robyn Brown Feels Like “The Idiot Who Got Left Behind”
Robyn Is Kody’s Only Remaining Wife
While it's easy to paint Robyn as the true villain of the family, Sister Wives is sharing that she may not be the puppetmaster when it comes to Kody and the rest of his relationships. “I feel like the idiot who got left behind,” Robyn shares shakily to an angry Kody, who also learns that his wife doesn’t feel like she knows how to deal with their family crumbling around them. While Kody’s marriages to his other wives were always on thin ice, it’s clear that the couple didn’t think they’d come crumbling down in any capacity.
Throughout the Sister Wives season 19 trailer, it’s clear that the Brown family is in a state of disarray that hasn’t been seen on the show. With Janelle doing her best to rebuff Kody and let him know that she isn’t interested in rekindling anything in their relationship, Meri has moved into a new place entirely, sharing that she’s neither part of the ex-wives club nor is she interested in being on Kody and Robyn’s side. With each of the Sister Wives stars interested in moving forward, including Christine with her fresh new relationship, the family’s long-held dynamics are changing.
Although there’s some heavier material coming to the later episodes, which will cover the passing of Kody and Janelle’s son Garrison Brown, the beginning of the season looks to be a reset for the family. With each of Kody’s ex-wives pursuing their newfound lives and interests, Kody himself will be left to pick up the pieces of his remaining marriage and navigate the best way to move forward. Though Kody and his family have been struggling on Sister Wives throughout the last few years, the new season looks to be a side of them viewers have never seen before.
Sister Wives season 19 premieres Sunday, September 15 at 10 p.m. EDT on TLC
