We Are Looking For
Reporting to the Vice President Orthopaedics SC, the Head of Supply Chain, Digital Surgery within Orthopaedics Supply Chain is expected to lead the Business E2E Supply Chain operational execution for Velys Digital Surgery and Power Tools to contemporary, best practice manufacturing and supply chain processes and techniques on a global scale, including the integration of acquired entities.
As the fastest growing platform for Orthopaedics, Velys Digital Surgery is expanding rapidly with aggressive commercial and supply chain goals. The leader of this platform is expected to drive significant growth and SC readiness in all areas digital. You must provide a practical and intellectual understanding of the global Med Tech industry as well as global digital surgery and its channels. This leader will have a strong combination of strategic vision and a willingness to be hands-on in all aspects of global manufacturing and supply chain operations as appropriate.
The Head of Supply Chain, Digital Surgery will be a member of the Orthopaedics Supply Chain Leadership Team and the Digital Surgery (Velys/Power) Tools Commercial Leadership Team.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities
1. Maintain strong connection to Customer & Business Unit (Globally and Regionally).
2. Execute a Network Optimization strategy to rationalize the facility footprint, leverage on technology, and significantly improve efficiencies. Develop and communicate an ongoing Supply Chain Plan relative to the Digital Surgery Strategy (at all levels) – aligned with key stakeholders and the enterprise supply chain.
3. Establish, integrate & institutionalize Global Engineering aligned by technology platform.
4. Establish processes to execute global New Product Launches. Drive innovation in support of manufacturability and process development.
5. Align metrics and KPI’s, with focus on Reliability, Innovation, Profitability and Cashflow metrics. Set Performance Targets for both Internal and (aligned with) External Manufacturing Ops to meet GOC & Enterprise goals.
6. Drive Standardization & Synergy across the network with aligned best practices in LEAN and Digital Capabilities – ensure emphasis on Innovation to drive improvement.
7. Establish processes to manage and balance the Supply Chain Portfolio of projects supporting all areas of performance improvement including, Reliability, Capacity, NPI, Profitability, Compliance and SC Digitalization.
8. Engage the workforce with a clear and compelling vision with emphasis on “one global team” focused on the customer.
9. Responsible to drive balance and drive continuous improvement in Cost, Customer Service & Product Quality. Ensure minimal compliance risk.
10. Responsible for managing capital investments to support Growth and deliver Capital efficiency.
11. Drive continuous cost improvement in Gross Profit and COGS aligned to Business Strategic Plan.
12. General oversight Union & Non-union workforce, approval responsibility of collective bargaining agreements
13. Interfaces with senior governmental & regulatory bodies
14. Strategic vision for the Velys and Power Tools Businesses and communication/deployment of Supply Chain Strategies to enable Business Growth.
15. Comply with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies. (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS18001)
16. Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level Responsible to balance and drive continuous improvement in Cost, Customer Service, and Product Quality. Ensure minimal compliance risk.
17. Responsible for managing capital investments to support growth, innovation and deliver capital efficiencies.
18. Interfaces with senior governmental and regulatory bodies. Ensures regulatory, SOX, and safety.
Qualifications
Required
· Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, or supply chain disciplines
· 15+ years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility managing large, multi-site, global organizations, with end-to-end supply chain experience.
· Knowledge of global demands, including multi-cultural/multi-country locations, local labor law, healthcare regulatory requirements, tax law, and logistics.
· Experience in Manufacturing.
· Understanding of the linkages in Supply Chain from demand planning through delivery to customer.
· Experience working in a complex matrix organization and achieving results through leveraging internal and external partners.
· Experience in data analytics.
· Actively involved as a member of a global business unit leadership team.
· Comprehensive understanding of supply chain linkages from demand planning to customer delivery.
· Ability to create and communicate a compelling future vision, gaining support and alignment.
· Experience in developing strategic plans that align with corporate goals.
· Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain diverse supply chain talents, with a track record in building robust leadership pipelines.
· Strong leadership skills in leading and developing high-performing senior end-to-end teams.
· Thorough understanding of medical technology and new product introduction processes.
· Direct knowledge of MedTech and the GMS business
· Successful track record in leading large, complex, global businesses.
· Willingness and ability to travel up to 30-40% domestically and internationally.
Preferred
· Graduate degree/studies in science, business, engineering, finance or organizational management or equivalent experience
· Multi-country and multi-sector experience, with exposure to varied geographies and businesses.
· Exceptional track record as a partner in global leadership teams, collaborating with R&D, commercial, and regional partners.
· A diverse business background with direct experience in multiple Medical Devices and Diagnostics companies in specific Operations competencies inclusive of product innovation, planning, customer & logistics services, and manufacturing
